The Roman Colosseum was constructed almost two thousand years ago.  It was the largest amphitheater ever made it could seat up to 50,000 people. It was a marvel of engineering, with a complex system of arches, and columns for support. There was even a retractable awning that could cover the arena to shade the spectators. Taking a tour of the Colosseum is a great way to appreciate this structure.
