3. Lake Massaciuccoli
Within driving distance from the historic city of Florence, Lake Massaciuccoli is located
in Torre de Lago. While the lake’s beautiful shoreline and nearby attractions, which
include the mediterranean sea, make this a popular destination for visitors and locals it
is perhaps best known for being the birthplace of the famous composer, Puccini. Puccini
composed some of his greatest operas from his home near the lake.
