Welcome to Omaha – the heart of mid-western America and a home to hospitable and patriotic people. It is the largest city in Nebraska, and it has been named one of the most comfortable cities to live in in the US. Tourists from inside and outside of the US find it to be a very attractive tourist destination, which at the same time feels like home.

Take a look at the most significant tourist attractions in Omaha before you set out on your journey.

Omaha’s Most Peculiar Tourist Attractions

  1. Joslyn Art Museum. The largest and most significant art museum in Nebraska was founded in 1931 in honor of George Joslyn. It is home to a vast collection of pieces of art of the European classics like Renoir, Titian, Veronese, El Greco and many American big names. The Art Deco building with its marble floors is a masterpiece to admire in itself, and you will enjoy the abundant native American artwork in one of its halls just like you would enjoy playing in betsson casino.
  2. Joslyn Castle. The castle belongs to Omaha’s historical heritage. It was erected in 1903 for the local philanthropist and printing business owner George A. Joslyn, who, together with his wife, contributed significantly to the city’s development. This 35-room mansion is now open to general public and can be rented for private events.
  3. Heartland of America Park. Most of Omaha’s landmarks are located in downtown, and Heartland is one of them. Take a walk on a sunny day admiring its large fountains, beautiful scenery, flowers and animal life like swans and squirrels. The main fountain is a modern 1.5-million-dollar construction that thrusts water 91 metres up. Boat tours are also available in good weather.
  4. Lauritzen Gardens. It is the second most popular open-air tourist landmark in Omaha, the largest botanical garden in Nebraska. The gardens occupy an area of 100 acres and feature pavilions dedicated to different themes: from prairies to Victorian times. Tourists can admire its plants and visit the education center with children.
  5. Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium. The zoo is a spectacular experience for adults and children alike. Occupying 103 acres altogether, it claims to feature the largest artificial rainforest and desert with a wide variety of animals you can find across the globe. Its most interesting attractions are the orangutan forest where the monkeys live on top of the trees, and the Aquarium with 70-foot-long shark tunnel.
  6. Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge. Built in 2008, it is the longest pedestrian bridge in Nebraska and a popular place for walks at dusk, for the beautiful views it provides. It is almost 1 km long, so prepare for a lengthy walk.

Omaha is the beating heart of Nebraska and a cozy place to visit. Don’t forget to visit the Old market area with its traditional restaurants run by several generations of locals, and a lovely shopping area. Regardless of whether you travel alone or with family, in Omaha, you will always find loads of fun and entertainment.
