Auroras Borealis – Iceland
The northern lights, or the Aurora Borealis occurs when solar wind from the sun interacts with the earth’s magnetic field. This interaction creates beautiful colors and shapes in the night sky, with colors from green to purple to red. The best time to see them is in the winter, September to March. This is when the nights are long and dark. You will need clear skies and a bit of luck to catch them. A northern lights tour might be the highlight of your trip to Iceland.
